60 years of republic InDiA

Today is the 26th of jan,2010..
ministers hoist flags around the country...people march to the tunes of 'he mere watan'...padma bhushans and padma vibhushans are conferred...homage is paid to the veer jawans @ amar jyothi...our mobiles are brimming wid republic day wishes... and we feel patriotic..even if 4 a day!!!
InDiA is a republic..yay..nd v hav a secular country which has given us the right to live our life..is it?
den cud anyone explain to me a visual,dat i had the stupendous opportunity to witness..

dec 15: 8:00 pm
i'm on my way back home from a day long tiresome interview which i had come out wid flying colors..i was resting my chin against the cool window pane of the bus..filled with an euphoria,thinking about my parents, brimming wid joy at my success..
we reached general hospital junction..nd suddenly the world around me came to a standstill.people were staring at something dumbstruck...den i heard screams dat sounded like sword..dont..i just couldnt make out what the hulla bulla was all about..
i risked a look outside and instantly i wished i hadnt..
2 men were chasing a third with a sword(i pictured a butcher cutting off the cattle's head)
but dis was more gruesome..they hacked him once and i could see the fresh blood spurt out.
he fell..yet he struggled back to his feet and ran around vehicles with his pursuers.the wounded man's wife was running after them screaming and pleading..
i still see the flash of sword and the color of blood..it just wont leave me..it has been over a month..but i still shiver when i write about it.
i couldnt look anymore...i wanted to shriek and shout...but to whom??
were those animals going to listen to me?
seeing violence and murder in tv and news is different than viewing a 'live performance'
These are the actual 'reality shows' that happen around us.

So the day which i hoped would be 'the best' got stained with red.
do we have the right to be happy,when people around us get hacked in front of our eyes??
One minute,i'm on top of the world...floating on cloud9..and the next minute,i face reality.
